Closing Collaboration Session - The Art of the Helpful GIS Presentation

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

In the conference keynote address, Esri President Jack Dangermond described ArcGIS as a system of record, a system of insight and a system of engagement. This presentation directly supports the third of these systems. The goal of the session is to encourage the GIS community to consider three aims when preparing for and participating in GIS presentations: (1) focus on helpfulness, (2) practice collaboration, and (3) engage continually. A group of four GIS professionals experienced in presenting on a wide variety of topics in a diverse range of settings will lead a collaboration session in which they will elucidate their reasons for recommending these aims and encourage attendees of the session to complement their ideas with feedback and suggestions based on their own experiences and ideas. This exercise will provide immediate professional development benefits for attendees, which will enhance the value of interactions of many types, especially meetings and conferences.
