Location awareness from a public and 9-1-1 perspective is a more complicated matter because lives are on the line. This session is designed to help the GIS professional understand the basics of addressing using a more recent case study from the City of San Jose - Master Address Database. Even sophisticated enterprise GIS organizations have a lot of work to do to compile an accurate address database that is public safety grade. We’ll explore why your organization, no matter how big or small, will benefit from going through the effort to create and/or improve the precision and accuracy of your jurisdiction's address point data.
