Municipalities are quickly migrating to using information and communication technologies to increase operational efficiency, share information with the public and improve both the quality of government services and citizen welfare. GPS/AVL Telematics uses M2M (machine 2 machine) and telematics technologies to provide a constant stream of information and metrics regarding your field crews activities and accomplishments which helps support an organizations mobile Operations and serves to feed near real time data updates to your corporate information systems such as Enterprise Asset Management and GIS.
Government agencies now have a way of automatically completing work orders in their asset management system using telematics. We will review various ways agencies can populate business data in systems they use every day with work being done by snow plows and spreaders. We will review how we connect to sensors and to onboard controllers to do this. The result is the enterprise benefiting from telematics – without learning a new system. The key benefit is current, up to date data in mission critical business systems. Specific workflows used by customers with ArcGIS, Lucity, Cityworks and custom systems will be presented.
Learn about this exciting emerging technology is supporting operations large and small from King County to Redmond OR.
