Need to catch up on your sleep? Attend this presentation. A couple of years ago Metro’s Data Resource Center (DRC) overhauled our server environment and migrated from Oracle to SQL Server. We used a few tools and processes from Agile project management to help manage the project. There were a few bumps in road but in the end we had enough success with the Agile tools that we have continued use the them for our Regional Land Information System (RLIS) data production. In our view, the way we manage the GIS data is similar to software development and many of the project management tools apply to our work. I’ll review our successes and what tools we continue to use. This presentation would be of interest to GIS coordinator, project managers and GIS managers.
